Sangwon Suh is a professor in industrial ecology at the Bren School of Environmental Science & Management at the University of California in Santa Barbara. He has a PhD in Environmental Science & Engineering from Leiden University in the Netherlands, and spent 20 hears contributing to the “theoretical foundations and practical applications of life cycle assessment and industrial ecology“.
In 2019 Suh co-wrote an article called “strategies to reduce the global carbon footprint of plastics” in Nature, which pointed out that greenhouse gas emissions from plastic could reach 15% of our total carbon budget by 2050 if we keep increasing plastic production.
